In the early 19th century, the Regulator coach left three times a week for the fourteen hour journey to London, and in the same era the Feathers used to provide facilities for the Gentlemen of Holt to meet the Gentlemen of Reepham for a main of cocks in one of the ground floor rooms. A photograph of the Inn taken earlier this century shows that the landlord was then a Mr. Cubitt Cooke and that around this time the author Peter Bull visited and wrote a poem in praise of the house. The original, still displayed in the bar, ends In fact its a place to which your heart tethers, so good luck to the host of the jolly old Feathers.<br> <br> Today, the hotel offers you a warm and friendly family welcome to help you enjoy the area with all its amenities and interesting places to visit.
