Blakeney is a delightful small town, with its quay, small shops and attractive flint faced cottages lining narrow streets off which you discover the secluded wynds in which some of the holiday accommodation is situated.

The harbour of Blakeney is the home port for many local fishermen and sailors. Although the Quay virtually "dries", visiting yachtsmen can anchor in Blakeney Pit or come alongside at high water. There is an active sailing club with slipway facilities for dingies and smaller boats. In summer there is always an air of activity on the quay with small pleasure craft (some available for hire) coming and going. Local ferries sail to the Blakeney Point seal colony and bird sanctuary. There is so much to do, so much going on, and yet the town never seems to get overcrowded.

For those who prefer more leisurely activities, bird watching along the coast is some of the best in the country, with many rare and exotic species in addition to regular migratory visitors, being seen each year. There are many more things to do in the area, with excellent beaches for swimming and wind surfing; interesting places to visit; a beautiful countryside for walking or cycling; and for the odd rainy day there are two indoor leisure centres within a few miles. There is even an art gallery on the beach.

The shopping facilities are more than adequate for those staying in self catering accommodation. For a wider choice, nearby Holt offers some of the most diverse quality shopping for many miles.
